Environmental Factors
Environmental Factors are one of the categories of the International Classification of Function (ICF) and include “the physical, social and attitudinal environments in which people live and conduct their lives” [1]. These factors are considered from the perspective of the person with Long COVID. For example, seating in a public environment (i.e. park benches) may be considered a facilitator for people with Long COVID but a barrier for others if anti-homeless features have been included).
The five ICF chapter headings for environmental factors are listed below, and each contains a list of components (see here for more information).
- Products and technology
- The natural environment and human-made changes to the environment
- Support and relationships
- Attitudes
- Services, systems and policies
