Acknowledgement of Country

The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: the Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations.

We also pay respect to the wisdom of the Elders past, present and emerging. We extend this acknowledgement and pay our respects to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples who read or use this booklet.

We recognise that First Nations sovereignty was never ceded. This continent always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
