Critical care/cardiothoracic surgery consultation
Spontaneous left pneumothorax. Patient stable, Sats O2 95% room air, HR 123bpm, RR 28bpm. Chest drainage currently not indicated. Administer analgesia, review vitals in 4-6 hours. Repeat CXR in the morning. If stable, discharge with CXR in 7 days. If worsening, position chest drain.
Patient education regarding risk of recurrence. Genetic testing may be appropriate given soft signs of Marfan Syndrome.
