3D models

A selection of fossils from the University of Otago Geology Museum have been 3D scanned to make digital replicas. 3D scanning is an increasingly important tool in paleontology as it allows people all over the world to study fossils that are physically located in a museum collection. 3D scanning also allows us to take measurements and examine details directly from the digital replica, meaning that the original can stay safe and sound.
