Acknowledgements

This book’s journey began over 15 years ago in Oxford, in conversations with Professor Sharon Straus about how health professionals can better understand and use research to improve their practice. Seeds were planted for what has since grown into a deep passion for the science and practice of implementation.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of writing postgraduate subjects, co-designing implementation projects, and working alongside committed clinicians and leaders across many settings. I am grateful to every student and collaborator who has shared their experiences, frustrations, and successes in translating research into practice. Your openness and determination have shaped my thinking and deeply influenced these pages.

Most recently, my sincere thanks to Antoinette Cass, whose encouragement, insight, and practical help made it possible to bring these ideas together into an open educational resource.  Also, my thanks to Emmy Peterson for her assistance.

To my reviewers, a heartfelt thank you for your constructive and positive feedback, which has enhanced the flow and content of this Guide.

And finally, thanks to you, the reader, for your curiosity and commitment to making change happen. My intention is that this book offers you practical tools and guides you towards sustainable implementation.
