Conclusion

This handbook has presented the measurement process for selected building trades, specifically groundworks, concrete, formwork, reinforcement, and masonry, using CostX as a digital on-screen measurement tool. Trade descriptions were developed in accordance with standard methods of measurement, and unpriced bills of quantities for these trades were generated using the software.

Students and other users can apply the framework introduced in Chapter 1, along with the examples provided in Chapters 2 to 6, to measure these trades across various building projects. Moreover, the same framework can be extended to other building elements, such as finishes, which are not explicitly covered in this handbook. Although CostX was the primary tool used in this handbook, the procedures outlined are adaptable to other digital measurement platforms.

Finally, it is important to note that this handbook is designed specifically for building projects. For infrastructure projects, separate handbooks are required to demonstrate appropriate measurement procedures tailored to those contexts.
